A fantasy football team name may not seem important, but any serious fantasy owner knows that’s not the case. Your team name defines who you are as a fantasy player and how seriously your team will be taken by the other league participants. A weak team name can lose you all your street cred. Your name should be a badge of honor you can display proudly when you brag to all your friends about your (hopefully) championship season. Picking a team name takes time and serious thought. Put some effort into it. Be creative. Don’t be lame and go with something generic like “Dave’s Destroyers” or re-hash old, played out names like “Somewhere Over Dwayne Bowe”. Trust me, you’re not being clever. We’ve heard it a thousand times.

So, you might ask, how do I pick a good team name? Puns are always a good start. Plays on words are worth a chuckle or two. Pop culture references are always entertaining, but don’t make them so obscure that nobody understands the joke. You don’t want to have to explain your team name to people. But the real winner?
